SPS Elementary Honor Choir - 5th Grade
Auditions for the 2025 - 2026 SPS Elementary Honor Choir are currerntly being held at Truman. The SPS Elementary Honor Choir is made up of 5th grade students, and some 4th grade students from K - 4th grade schools, from throughout our district. Students who are accepted to be a member will rehearse at home and at school for the performance on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Parkview High School. Students will also be required to attend the mass rehearsal on March 7th from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM with all the other students from the district. The choir will be directed this year by Christina Harmon. She teaches elementary music in Purdy, MO.
Students in 5th grade who are interested in auditioning need to get an audition permission letter from Ms. Kniffin, have it signed by a parent/guardian and return it to Ms. Kniffin. Students will audition to verify they can match pitch and to see where their voice range lies. If accepted to be a member, Ms. Kniffin will inform them that they have been selected.
Students who become members of the choir will receive information and directions on how they will need to practice. There are five songs that must be learned and memorized for the performance on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Students must also have excellent behavior and have all school work completed and up-to-date to remain in the choir.
Students will come to this page to rehearse for the performance. They will use the links below to practice at home so they can begin learning the songs. Again, all music must be learned and memorized.
Click on the links below to listen to the songs. There will also be links added to see the music so you can follow the note heads to see which way you should go with your voice as you sing - UP, DOWN or STAY THE SAME.
